These Arms Long To Hold You
Before time existed, it was just us two,
yet still, butterflies in my deep core do fly-
we have a genuine love no one can deny,
for these adoring arms long to hold you.
I’m at the market with you on my mind,
missing each touch that bestows heat-
for with your essence in me I’m complete,
and those strong arms around me I did find.
When September turns crimson and chill begins,
I just hold onto memories of us embracing,
and twenty-three years later, heart still racing;
when in your arms I hear trumpets, violins.
Before the hourglass drained, it was us two,
the only ones in the world who knew of fate-
for no magnetic force or power can ever equate…
knowing your adoring arms long to hold me too.
