Theres No One Around
In my numbness I allowed
the boundaries to fall down
let people push me around
My weakness does astound
When you’ve turned to no one
handled your life on your own
then when you need someone
you find there’s nobody home
Because they come to you
and you always help out
it’s something they don’t do
when it’s the other way around
Something they’ve not done
Never turned to for advice
So they treat it good fun
laugh at you and say you lie
And you’re victimised at work
Isolated against the illegal
trying to survive getting hurt
learning you’ve got no people
And the ones who you turn to
behave like it’s all you do
so you feel no one loves you
No one ever comes through
Then you’re whole world falls down
for reasons that nobody knew
all trying to figure you out
on the basis you don’t speak true
So they think you’re dishonest
and you always need help
They swear and they promise
they just want to help
So my boundaries went down
I didn’t care about people
Addictions I found
so weak and so feeble
Now I live in doubt
of what mankind’s about
I still shut people out
because they let me down
To not even listen
the first time I reached out
who I was is now missing
there’s no one around
It’ll only get worse
as more know to treat me a mug
It’s like I was first
now the whole world’s above
