There Was An Old Rugged Cross
There Was An Old Rugged Cross
There was an old rugged cross up on Calvary's hill where Jesus suffered and died,
for our sins and transgressions 'twas to be the Lord's will his son was crucified.
For God so loved this world every creature great and small,
He made the ultimate sacrifice and a
promise to us all.
Only asking in return we believe
and trust in him,
opening up our hearts so that He can
dwell within.
May the light of his love be a beacon,
shining bright for all to see,
and the cross a constant reminder
of the price Jesus paid to set us free.
Heaven awaits every soul there's
a reason why we're here,
mountains we must climb but
rest assured and do not fear.
Faith hope trust and love are
only a prayer away,
may the old rugged cross remind us of
God's love and forgiveness today.
Tomorrow
and
Always
