Notes About The Poem

There On the Dock

She stands there so sweet, where there is no seat
A pet on her shoulder resides
I look for a clue, that dawn could bring true
All is in time with the tides

The dawn of the day, is a wonderful way
To paint red the sky in the east
The light cloudy skies, there is no surprise
Her beauty just adds to the feast

Her dress flowing down, is just a night gown
Flimsy and flows in the breeze
She's needing no seat, there in bare feet
A vision that's just made to please

As time marches on, she will soon be gone
Returning once more to her home
If I have my way, I'll go the same way
She will never again be alone
