There is No Victory
Listen to poem:
There is no victory when you find your ship has sunk
Your enemies are laughing and have all done a bunk
Left treading water; ‘cause there is no shore in sight
Sharks surround you, it’s gonna be a long hard night
Tiredness takes over; as you surrender, to the waves
Humming to that old church song "God always saves"
There is no victory when you find your ship has sunk
Your enemies are laughing, and have all done a bunk
You awake next morn, to find your prayers answered
And, on some drift wood, you find yourself anchored
Then, to be found by a clipper sailing the seven seas
Suddenly you find your trip home is one of such ease
There's no victory when you find your ship has sunk
Your enemies are laughing and have all done a bunk
But now grateful for some help, and you’ve survived
As on some distant shore you've now safely, arrived
Humbled by your experience as so happy to be alive
No bittiness to be found just a willingness to survive
