There Is Forgiveness In a Smile
He smiled when he saw his countrymen fighting
He smiled when his heart was crying
He smiled when he stood against the odds
He smiled when he followed his God
He smiled when he was finally freed
He smiled when injustice tried to bend his knees
He smiled when he lost his first heart throb
He smiled when he was snubbed
He kept smiling in the face of adversity
Lord have mercy
His style, was to flash a big welcoming smile
A smile can quiet words filled with rage
And it’s worked from the beginning of time
To this present age
Why smile?
Because it’s a sign to those who know not what they’re doing
That upon their heads, heaps of coals they’re incurring
If they only knew what they were doing…….
