There Is a Tide

There is a tide in the affairs of men
mightier than sword or pen,
a tide of destiny swept in by divine will,
a tide of destiny fulsome and inexorable.

Stretching back into the very night of time
its workings are law, and sublime,
reaching forward into the far future
its justice is inescapable and sure.

Swift or slow, now or late
that destiny will surely manifest at due date
until all injustices are met,
'till mans only desire is to save and heal
will he finally quit life's endless wheel./
