When I needed someone to listen
You were there for me
When I took my first steps
You were there for me
My first day at school
You were there for me
When my father never showed up
You were there for me
When I bloomed into a woman
You were there for me
When I first learned how to drive
You were there for me
When I first felt a broken heart
You were there for me
And when I found my first true love
You were there for me
When I asked you to give me away
You were there for me
And when I have my first child
I know that you'll be there for me
When you look back at all those years,
don't cry or feel alone
Because I'll be there for you
Like you were there for me
