.
Mawkishly I stand staring out the open door
Listening to the falling fall rain
Feeling the dampness penetrate
Surround my old feeble body
Then
The vision of the fall scene draws my eyes
To the fallen leaves, curled, brown, wet
Lying upon the tan grass
Suffering from twenty days drought
Then
I see the Ginkgo with its green leaves turning slightly
Yellow-tinged, so beautiful
Soon they will be gold
Then fall to the ground and it will be
Winter
