The Years To Come

I wonder what you’ll mean to me
In the years to come
Just a distant memory?
Or are we still forever young?

A mess of infidelity?
Of pain and hurt and tears?
Or happy ever after
Loving through the years?

If we knew the outcome
Would we stay or would we run?
Foresight would only spoil it
Not knowing’s half the fun

So I’ll keep these words of thought
Somewhere nice and safe
And maybe in those years to come
They will find it’s place
