The Written Word

The written word
Not in itself an end, but yet
Without it's symbols deep engraved
All knowledge gained
The world to soon forget

Upon a page
In metered form and rhyme
Or scribbled notes, just words
Each written down for us to send
Our message into time

Think what you feel
Then write as though to shout
Reveal each thought within each word
The meaning there for all the world
To know without a doubt

An excellent poem on the need and advantage of words and poetry. True and presented in a lovely way well-rhymed. Thumbs up. Pls do review my latest poem too.
