The Writer
The writer casts spells
as his pen hits the page.
Is he blessed or cursed?
Or simply deranged?
The writer never sleeps
he writes in his tower,
and people wait for him
to toss out a page every hour.
They grapple and bite
and fight for his words,
the mayor wants order
he says it's absurd.
He hasn't read any pages,
he'll simply refuse
but the Mayor is unaware
of what the pages can do.
These words resonate,
and dig in like claws.
The writer knows this,
that's why he keeps writing on.
One day the Mayor received a page:
"Up in this tower
I have all the power,
the people are brainwashed
and tricked.
I hope my words to you stick.
So why don't you join them?
Instead of annoy them."
The Mayor of the town
became lost in the crowd,
awaiting a page to come down.
