The Write Connection
I tried to write a book one day
Always needed extra pay
Searched high and low to sell my work
Started feeling like a jerk
Now I had to make a switch
So dropped some cash
Went to a pitch
Many would-be writers there
Approaching agents with great care
Quick praises flowed from every mouth
A minute later they went South
So head held down I grabbed my bus
And wondered what was all the fuss
So what's the answer to this all
When you feel the wrtiter's call
Don't speak too much
Don't speak too loud
Come down from your self-seeking cloud
Just let your words on paper flow `` Remembering that it all comes down
To spending all your time in town
To meet the ones who really
know
Before it's back to home you go.
