The Worst

There’s something worse than feeling sad
yes, worse than feeling blue.

There’s something worse than feeling had
and knowing you’ve been used.

There’s something worse than feeling scared,
and feeling all alone.

There’s something worse than feeling sick
and lying far from home.

There’s something worse than feeling hated,
like no one’s on your side.

There’s something worse than humiliation
and being stripped of pride.

There’s something worse than to feel despair,
something worse than feeling small.

What could it be worse than these things…
feeling nothing inside at all.
