The world outside
Listening to the world outside
Wish I could span my horizon far and wide
No joy from all the usual things
I cringe when my favourite singer sings
Sat in my own little world
Sat all alone my world turning cold
I want to break free of the shell I'm in
And embrace myself in everything
Locked in a box, but I have the key
Even my mirror doesn't see me
Darkness around even though its light
I have no energy for this fight
Sounds make me jump, silence is scary
If I scream would anyone hear me?
Not knowing which way to turn
Feeling normal is all I yearn
Lights are on to keep the shadows away
But as soon as there off they come out to play
Nothing around me feels familiar
What a terrible start its been to this year
They say they can help but don't know how
Is that what a humans life is worth now?
When the simple things are taken away
All that's left is skin and bones that stay
I want to listen to a song
One I know has my heart
But my ears can't register what song is playing
My mind it seems is slowly dying
Sat at the window, sat in a shell
Nobody is coming to free me from this hell
Lights are on but nobody's home
My mind left freely just to roam
Is this really how it ends?
My mind going round the bend
I sit here slowly falling to dust
Saving my life is a must
I cannot see clearly no more
I wonder what all this fighting was for
Depression and mania have hit me hard
Not giving my life any regard
I'm a shell I need to break free
Is anybody coming to rescue me
I'm in a bind stuck in my mind
I'm sitting here, but I'm not hard to find
