The World As I See It
Maybe I see the world as far too kind,
for every earthling is an angel in my mind.
I see evil and choose to look the other way,
for I cannot process my own will ever stray.
I still cherish the people who step on me,
for keeping them around, it's a minimal fee.
I keep on pretending I do not know,
for their demeanor always matches of a foe.
I choose to believe felony is a construct of movies,
for it's way easier to live in a world free from Uzis.
Why humans resort to rape and assault?
for I always envisioned my world as the safest vault.
Perhaps, the world is not as I see it,
for they tell me my naive self wouldn't easily fit.
Tomorrow will be brighter I still manifest,
for the world is not as I see it, is hard to digest.
