The World

I'd buy you the world if it were mine to give
and send the tall ships across the world to transport you to another realm
or fly you over Victoria Falls
where you might make a wish to keep close to your heart

Instead I can only write you of my love
of my passion that burns so incessently and red hot within my veins
it makes my heart pound within my ears
so that all I am able to hear
is your voice inside my soul

I treasure each moment we spend together
wrapped in the intimate glory of what a couple is privy to
and when your eyes look into mine
and those soft dark lashs that
beat against your soft white skin
look up at me
my heart skips a beat and my legs turn to jelly
and I know
within my soul
you are the only one
for me.
