The Woods

The darkness engulfs the sun In the woods there is a howling A howling for the moon In the woods there is ruffling of leafs Animals prowling around in slow motion for their prey In the woods there is a small cabin Made just for one A man lives alone In the woods he stands Picking up rocks and giving them a toss Hitting a tree in the distance From the woods a rock is thrown Hitting the man square in the face A hefty laughter is heard In the woods a man and a woman stand She has searched several years for him He has searched years for her In the woods they become one They live their lives in the cabin In the woods childrens feet pitter patter Mud splashing out from the ground as they run Screams and laughter fills the air The man and woman laugh and play with their children Eventually the leaves change and the winter comes and goes Another season comes and goes .. and maybe years In the woods stands a man and a woman Standing in front of the cabin Just to the left is a tree A grave stone underneath its branches Under the tree the man and woman lay their flowers Paying their respects In the woods a man and woman grew old They were returned to the place they call home It is there the tree they were buried under will grow Into new life.. into new hope.
