Feelings of elation
  Mingle with desperation

Doubts and fears
  Supplanted by cheers

Prejudice and discrimination
  Yield to acceptance and toleration

Laughter and mirth
  Follow difficult births

Ambition and greed
  Succumb to basic needs 

Defeat and despair
  Give way to hope and prayer
