The Woman With the Child In Her Eyes

The sunshine glows like honey in the hazel of her gaze Your thoughts are understood by her intellectual maze Your blindness is lifted by her ever searching sight The woman with the child in her eyes. Her patience is eternal, the length of time no thought Her spiritual awareness, you have most of your life sought You are doing less of taking, and giving’s much more fun The woman with the child in her eyes. You love her most intently, her honour you will defend And she loves you in her own way, on each other you depend Her dark hair once in pigtails are now tresses with ebony sheen The woman with the child in her eyes. You sometimes hurt each other, but with no bad intent And she is always honest, no long stories to invent I will never forget that moment, that spark of sheer delight When that child became a woman in my eyes.
