The Wise Owls See It All

Through the windows, they see it all.
They see the girls sat playing
having fun with the dolls
The wise owls could see everything.

On the day so cold and dark
They sat sheltered in the tree.
Hearing the dog's frantic bark.
The moment the girls got free.

Daddy arrived with his big gun
Mommy was crying on the ground
When the perp tried to run
He went down as the blasting sound

Daddy stood over him as he bled out
Then told mommy to stay strong.
But he's scared and has doubts,
because help was taking too long

He heard a noise from the back
Running that way, with his gun in hand
He saw the other perp pinned by Jack
He heard the cops give, their command

The paramedics took mommy away
While daddy explained the crime
as the girls came running his way
The wise owls were there the whole time

( this was written to go with a picture of owls looking down from the wires

Well done! If only the animals could speak our language; wouldn't it be great to have them in court to defend us?

Thanks for reading my poems and giving me your thoughts about it I do agree about the animals speaking. but then sometimes I wouldn't to hear what they'd have to say in some cases
