The Wise Old Owl
It is said they are wise,
Beyond belief,
If you listen closely,
They can ease your grief.
If I only knew,
The words he says,
Maybe, just maybe,
It would ease my head.
For she has left me,
And I don’t understand,
What I did wrong,
For her to leave this land.
If she only knew,
The hurt in my heart,
Would she come back,
And give a new start?
My love for her,
Will never die,
For I am but man,
Trying, not to cry.
So tired I am,
Of the way I feel,
Only wanting,
A love that is real.
Too much to ask,
Maybe so,
I am just a man,
Never to know.
