The Winter Sun
The morning fog on a winter day,
Concealed the trees and hills standing motionless on the other side of the town.
In the warmth of the bright sunshine on a winter day,
The timid snowman standing alone in
The snowy land melts down.
In the bleached surroundings of the trees,
As tiny as a red berry , the Northern cardinal stands.
Whistling as if saying out loud
The message of Summer coming to protect us from cold.
The squirrel, a permanent inhabitant of the willow tree,
Looks up at him from his tiny little hole.
He doesn't seem to care much, as he gets out of his house to bathe in the sunshine
And take a morning stroll.
Even the Snow smiles in delight
And the Trees nod in agreement,
As the Sun rays bring in good hope and light.
The Sunshine has lifted up everyone's spirits
And in a few days I hope,
Spring will consider to pay us a visit.
