The Will Within

In this blazing sea, my will has been cast.

I thought it was over- after the wait had passed.

I could have chosen to suffer alone.

But instead gave into desperation that grew like vines in my bones.

My eyes glow behind these bars.

That scares the people passing in their cars.

Some chemical starts to bubble in my brain.

The burden within starts to bloom in my veins.

And soon, I forget why I am inside-

This place that collects the tears I have cried.

The wait is over, but the bad nights begin.

My hope has passed as has my will within.
