The Welcome Sound

I heard they can be spirit birds sent down by those we loved who passed so prematurely who were called home far too soon Though you’re no longer here I feel your presence all around These birds a sign that you are near I garner comfort when I hear their raspy distinctive sound in my ear Each morning I awaken to a sign that you are near ‘tis the sound of their ‘caw cawing’ that takes away my fear You had always been enthralled by these intelligent funereal birds so no surprise when I opened my eyes to see two black crows perched on my roof a sign I’m sure for this is proof… I pray I hear forevermore the welcome sound of their ‘caw ~ caw’ Written 11th September 2020 Contest COMPLETELY YOUR CHOICE 7 Sponsor Brian Strand N/A 11th September 2020 Contest Name Second Chances NA poems of 2020 Part III Sponsor Chantelle Anne Cooke N/A 6th October 2020 Contest Name Best N-A poem of 2020 Sponsor John Hamilton N/A

Hello Ann … almost feels like a spiritual happening, and it is comforting to know that you are not alone. A nice poem indeed Ann - Lindsay

.. yes that is exactly how it feels Lindsay and this morning two crows flew over my head as I was sitting on my balcony, caw cawing as the flew by like an air display completely in unison ~ it made me smile. Thank you for your kind words, with kindest thoughts Ann xx
