The Week's Special Day

God has set apart His day
a day given to God alone
to rest from our manual labour
for we're His not our own

God has set it in His created order
that man should rest one day in seven
as God did rest on the seventh day
for He knows best for all He's given

So it's important to heed God's command
it's for our own particular good
to live in close unity with our redeemer
for He supplies our living food

For this God call's His own people
to come together in congregational worship
to praise and pray to His holy name
being taught by the master of your ship

God stears you all of the way
through this life to your eternal abode
keeping the Sabbath day special
is part of your spiritual code
