The Water's Edge
How far have I wandered to here?
Oh where, where have I been taken?
Through calm and gripping fear
A path so long and beyond forsaken
With its yonder endless horizon
Stubborn the will to carry on
As sure as the next sun’s rising
To fade again as it be gone
And lay those fears of strife at rest
At the end of life’s long trek
Determined was I in my quest
Time and again not to look back
Behold I searched with you in mind
Alas I’m barred by this rocky ledge
And all my hopes of what to find
End here, here at the water’s edge
The mist it unites within my tears
The sky becomes just like the sea
My life just one of many years
It sewn within the heart of me
My pleas silenced by the roar
This raging sea that I have found
My search ending upon this shore
Lost within an ocean’s sound
