The Water King

The molten rock came to the surface
The King of Water
Covered the rock in the sea
Rock exploded
Threw themselves high
Huge trails littered the sky
Of rock that cooled and hissed

Soon the seas
Surrounded the rock
The endless battering
Made beaches
Made mountains
Chasms
Gorges
The Fire King forges
The Water King , cools

Soon the seas
So barren
Would be filled
With gifts from the Earth King
For fish in their multitudes
Inhabited a world of swimming

The King of Water
Explored the depths
Of the sea
Of the meaning
It became the dreaming

For on the sea,
and under it
Dreams are made
For you
For me

When the earth settled and laid
Fresh water lakes filled
The cracks in the rock
That the Fire King made

The water gave life
To everything
The fish
The animals
To Heartstone
The dreaming

Such consciousness
Became the Stream of Sighs
For water is alive
It lives within us all
