The Wandering Soul

So there I go…
Searching for a new life
And yet, another soul

God only knows
What I’ve been through
And what will unfold
-- It’s a sad story to be told
The bitter-sweet memories of old
When words are worthless
And actions seem powerless
Who am I to try to “second-guess”?

Picking up where I left off
Thirteen years ago
Broken up and out of touch
I am a wandering soul
Blessed & cursed with a gift no one knows
And may never understand—too much to comprehend
There’s no room for sympathy
It was replaced with empathy
Don’t you see?

No one can rival me!
