The Wall Between Us

Between us, there's a wall. On my side, there's an empty hall, Where I scream and cry. Then I die, and die, and die. I'm pleading on my knees, Fighting the frosty breeze, Begging for your aid, Like a poor maid. The wall seems so reasonably thin, But you can't hear: "Let me in, let me in." You just simply don't care, Which is so awfully unfair.

Dear Anne, I wanted to come back to see what new poems you have. My Sr Year in HS, I had an English teacher, Mrs. Dagenhart, who loved my poetry and I have been writing since. If I can be her to you in some small way because you have great potential. Now for this poem: Quite a powerful exploration of emotional barriers and unrequited connection. I loved your imagery of the wall and the empty hall because it captures the sense of isolation and desperation. Your words certainly show a haunting picture of vulnerability and longing, especially in lines like "Then I die, and die, and die." The contrast between the seemingly thin wall and the inability to breach it is particularly poignant. Your raw emotion shines through, creating a deeply moving piece. Excellent Keep Writing! Spring Blessings, my Dear Friend, Daniel

Dear Daniel, Thank you so much for your amazing review! I'm truly touched by your kind words and thoughtful analysis.I have to admit, I've struggled with self-doubt about my writing but your kind words and thoughtful feedback have helped me feel more confident of my work. I always write from the depth of my heart and I love writing. Thank you for seeing something in my writing that I wasn't sure was there. I loved hearing about your English teacher, Mrs. Dagenhart, and how she inspired you to write. Your offer to pay it forward and support me means a lot - I'd be grateful to have you as a mentor and friend! Your encouragement means everything to me. Thank you for believing in me and my writing. Spring Blessings to you too! Best regards, Anne
