The Wall

A wall I have built for protection,
My heart now hidden from any affection.
A wall to protect againts lies,
Protection againts any painful surprise.

A wall built to repel love itself,
A wall made to protect me from myself.
The wall stands strong and high,
Built to avoid the pain of a good-bye.

A wall built throughout the years,
Built with pain, sorrow and tears.
A wall made to protect my heart from pain,
Made to ignore my heart and listen to my brain.
