The Wall

The wall
The safe space that I go
I feel power -Yet perplexed
Most times, feeling all alone

Me wall is impenetrable
It can block a strong stormy wind
Yet its permeable
Its allows a calm breeze to blow in

My wall has a purpose
Resolving all my troubles and fears
Yet vulnerable - Im aware
I've learned to project throughout the years

A wall keeps people out
Unfortunately, it keeps us captive from within
It protects us from foes
At the expense of losing many friends

Walls have consequences
This could truly be called the great divide
While we suffer in isolation
Relationships get fractured in our lives

The wall that was erected
To provide shelter from the storm
Has created an issue
An illusionary solution - a deviation from the norm

For the walls to come down
An awareness must sink in
To wall people out
Isn't a solution - and nobody wins
