The Walking Dead-A Sonnet Acrostic Tribute

There is an emptiness. You see no face.
Humanity. . . Wherever can it be?
Enveloped by strange silence is each place.

Whole towns have been abandoned! Finally,
A figure is approaching - a small child.
Look! Her mouth with something red seems wet.
Keep moving. This girl’s face is not so mild.
Inside a vacant house you need to get!
Now suddenly, more human forms appear.
Get far from them! They have no heart or soul.

Dead eyes will haunt your dreams. You’ll live in fear.
Eternal sickness has consumed them whole.
As twilight falls outside your door, they creep.
Do say a prayer to God, your soul to keep.

I have seen a couple seasons and it is a very well done show Andrea...I can see how one can become addicted...I never could coordinate my schedule with it's showing...I see it is on Netflix now...I will have to binge watch...another good one is American Horror Story

Not a fan of zombies but I am a fan of great poetry. An acrostic sonnet? Are you kidding me? Message received! I know Tom will be impressed. Super job, Andrea.

Fantastic writing...so creatively penned in a Sonnet/Acrostic form..wow(i am still learning so this level of skill and talent amazes me..lol) A terrific tribute to a show that gained "cult" status...your words deftly giving very solid imagery to the theme and feel with a few "eerie" scenes, seamlessly tucked in.:-) Wonderfully written, 7+ my best to you in the contest. bundles of blessings, lynn

Even I have heard of it, not familiar with the walking dead (other than myself) but I loved this poem, I even took away a few other maybe unintended meanings! Hugs!
