The Wait Is Over

I know I'll always love her. Another love her as me, I'll always kind of wonder. She gave her heart to this man - told me I was the greatest. Never really believed her... but then she trashed the wait list. "Here" grabbing me by both wrists across the cheek a soft kiss. Hearts beating at a fast pace, merged as one with a slow dance. "What do you pray for?" "Chardonnay, Marvin Gaye, and some Romance!" She laughed out loud, shook her head - stared at the stars, and she said... I know I'll always love him. Another love him as me, I'll always kind of wonder. He gave his heart to this girl - told me I was the greatest. Never really believed him... but then he trashed the wait list.

Intriguing write...Leaves much to the imagination...I see why its one of the weeks top poems...You tell a genuine story added with greater cultural references...Love the Marvin Gaye reference...The 'wait list' was a great metaphor. Fresh and dramatic..
