The Voice Within

I heard a gentle voice within Its politeness stood apart, It urged me that I listen close To the pleadings of my heart. The din around had long stifled What my fate had in its store, But the voice inside knew it all And it knew so ever more. I chose the wisdom of this world But ignored the Zen within, Spent endless years to know this truth Oh what a grievous sin! ***********
