Notes About The Poem

The Voice Of My Soul

(Inspired by Glenn Hughes song " Voice In My Head")

I hear the sigh when I’m broken
A song brings hope when I’m shaken
The melody wraps me in delight
The rhythm takes me on a flight

Through the storm it calls me
All the shackles break I see
It again makes me free

I hear the voice of my soul
Oh, I hear the voice of my soul
The voice of my soul, Oh

It raises me above mortal pain
Beyond frenzy fire and gloomy rain
Takes me through the whispering night
Above the clouds where stars shine bright

Through the storm it calls me
All the shackles break I see
It again makes me free

I hear the voice of my soul
Oh, I hear the voice of my soul
Oh, I hear the voice of my soul
The voice of my soul, Oh

When I fall in the dreary abyss
I see in the sunshine of bliss
The devout mantra of the soul
Resonates in my spirit whole

The voice of my soul
The voice of my soul
I hear the voice of my soul
The voice of my soul, Oh
