The Virgin of Rue Saint Severin
THE VIRGIN OF RUE SAINT SEVERIN
As natural as the plucking of a rose,
with just as much of joy, one might suppose,
I lay me down next to the side of you,
for what I've dreamt, so long, in all I do,
this moment when I have and hold you close.
All of my need is carried to this end,
as you bid farwell to your life long friend,
and in my hand I hold the world to press;
to lick upon, and raise mine happiness,
through secrets only love can comprehend.
There is no feeling like our ship of pain,
the only hope for life at best mundane,
I drag the breath of love you're clinging to
and take my fill from out the depth of you,
lest you fall out of love, where we have lain.
Merci! Merci! I feel your aging rise,
as you come to your life, before mine eyes!
and heartbeats near explosion, fill the room
as if we've set our sails to final doom,
then we put in to love, before it flies.
