"Fighting the eternal batle of External Appearances and Inner Truths"
The Veil of Vanity
Peel back the flesh, reveal what lies beneath,
The hidden depths, where our true selves seethe,
For beneath the guise of our vanity,
Lies the heart of our ugly humanity.
Lift the veil, let truth be revealed,
The secrets of our souls, long concealed,
For in this realm of narcissism and pain,
We must confront our insecurities to find our gain.
Gaze upon the face of mortality,
And see the beauty in our frailty,
For what is life without finality,
But a mere illusion of immortality.
And in this dance of light and shade,
We find ourselves trapped in grand charade,
For what is love but a fleeting gleam?
A flame that flickers, then gone like a dream.
So peel back the flesh, and behold the truth,
That in this realm of beauty and youth,
We are but mere mortals, frail and weak,
Living a life that is fleeting and bleak.
Lift the veil of vanity, and feel the piercing glare,
As judgmental eyes dissect with a ruthless stare,
In this world of mirrors reflecting disdain,
We must confront insecurities to break the chain.
