The Unwelcome Awakening
Dreams smashed
Crash on the rocks
The breeze-blocks of reality
Break the silence and haul from the depths of sleep
This heavy carcass
Doused in drowsiness
Aroused by noise
Shaken from the ignorance of slumber
That pulled it under
Its clothes drip drip drip with weighty plunder
Drenched by guilty fantasies
Onto the deck
Lungs spewing bitter entrails of sin
Welcome to paradise.
