The Unlucky One

I always held my breath going over bridges And clutched onto countless rabbits feet Watching you from modest distances Just wishing again that we would meet And one night on a random Tuesday Again my wildest dream was real In the same bar we were drunk with love And your heart was mine to steal But all those pennies I threw in the well And every birthday candle I ever blew I tell you just how badly I want us to be together And you reply "what the hell else is knew?"
