The Unforgotten Soul
The death toll is rising,another
name added to the list.
you sit back an stare at a grave
with an angry clutched fist.
You'll never know the burden of
love I carried for you an our pictures of yesterday show you never knew.
Your out of arms reach an the answers
buried six feet deep.
But the memories of our friendship
is a treasure I'll forever keep.
The unforgotten soul of yesterday
an the memory of today
You lived one day at a time with
very little to say.You kept the pain
inside and your answers to questions
locked in secrecy.
And you goals for the future will for-
ever remain a mystery.
I'm paralyzed by the silence and
the darkness taken my sight
Trying to uncover the truth about
your life.
I sometimes imagine crawling
towards your arms because I'm to weak
to stand.
The tears are burning my face as
i try to reach your hand.
Awaiting the day to touch your face
and your hand to hold
I'll remember the love and friendship
of the unforgotten soul.
