The Ukrainian's Boy Ballad
There are sad tears
in that boy's eyes;
Putin has invaded
his motherland.
The speedy missiles hit their targets,
buildings and houses are razed to the ground,
terrifying screams from unseen faces;
death is everywhere, smoke hides every road.
There are sad tears
in that boy's eyes;
Putin ha invaded
his motherland.
Mothers grab their children
and take what they can;
a poet from thousand miles away
has written these moving lines,
"There are sad tears
in that boy's eyes;
he has no mother, no dad,
no sister: his house and playground
was instantly blown away! "
There are sad tears
in that boy's eyes;
Put has invaded
his motherland.
He cries out with a sobbing voice,
he's walking with total strangers
to another country...
feeling cold and hungry."
He holds a banner that says,
" No war, no blood, only peace! "
There are sad tears
in that boy's eyes;
Putin had invaded
his motherland.
He has miles to go
and doesn't really know
whether fate is good,
or even unkind;
he looks back drenched in sadness...
there are no familiar faces or friends,
he's alone, hurrying down dusty roads.
There are sad tears
in that boy's eyes;
Putin has invaded
his motherland.
