The Uhaul and the Hearse
I seen something weird the other day, for it's surely not funny
It's was about the sad desperate way of peoples love of money
Only the hearse and the U-haul behind, I couldn't help but see
How this man was so blind and that now he will never be free
They both stopped at the light neither driver seeming very concerned
As I slowly pulled along the right and quickly the light turned
And ahead they both went until they reached that old spot of land
This too was owned by the old gent and it too was pretty grand
So I pulled to the side of the road as they stopped near a big mound
In the two taking what was owed they dumped the rest in the ground
And on top of it all, on top of the big giant broken mess of his things
It is finally his coffin they haul with the dirt the mini-dozer now flings
They left with much haste as they flew past my spot on the road
Trying to ponder such a waste in not having a single seed sowed
For what was his point and reason, how could he not understand
This the Christmas season, don't you bury everything in the sand
Matthew 16:26
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world,
and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
