The Tzaddik

~ The Tzaddik ~ A 'Tzaddik,' normally translated as a 'Righteous Man,' is so much more than that. I think of a 'Tzaddik' as a selfless holy man, who exists only for others. If you've ever met one, you'll recognize him in the poem below... You can’t put your finger on it or think of its synonym Yet the instant he spots you there’s something special about him It’s in his smile that greets you his attentiveness when you speak He exists only for you, for your deepest needs though you may be unassertive and weak He introduces others to you with a shine on his face that he transfers to you with effortless grace You will never forget him, nor he you for you’ve just met a tzaddik, whose love has touched you

Thanks for the support on this one, Richard... And if the he was a she, then a 'Tsadekes' touched your life. (The first 'e' is pronounced like 'long a' in 'date.') Best always, Gershon

I can think of two guys like this. You are right. They are so easy to talk with, you always feel like you have their complete attention, and you realize later they had you talking most of the time.

Yes. Yes! It's an amazing feeling, isn't it? ... Just to be in the presence of a Tzaddik. I was extremely fortunate in that I worked for/with one for 13 years, and another, a physician by trade, danced with a tulip in his teeth at my (second) wedding. Many more stories, of course. Now is not the time or the place. Thank you so much for your support for this write, Jeff. Deeply appreciated! Joy! ~ Gershon
