The Tunnel

I look into the tunnel but I can’t see any light
I search for an answer yet it’s nowhere in sight
Still I wander in hopes that I will find a sign
The clock on the wall continues to unwind.

I walk out of the darkness and into the light
I won’t give into fear without putting up a fight
But it seems I grow tired and I can’t walk anymore
I close my eyes for what the future has in store.

So I try to live my life the best that I possibly can
There seems some confusion about just who I am
My problems arise when I follow my heart
The pieces of the puzzle scatter and fall apart.

So I look down the tunnel one more time
To see if this really is the end of the line
When all of a sudden there is a flash of light
It provides me the chance to escape from the night.

I like how in the end there's still hope.. because there's always hope, no matter how bad the situation is. I quite like this, this could easily be turned into a song!

Thanks the link between music and poetry has always been there. Like say the beatles and the Stones But the true test is how long they stick in your mind and stay with you. I can remember the words to many songs that I haven't heard in years. And there is always hope and ther day that there isn't is the day we become hopeless. Take care and thanks for reading....Mark
