The Truth

I do not listen to words that are spoken
I pay close attention to actions
Actions are solid
Promises are words and promises are always broken

To me words are tools of deception
Manipulated and rearranged to distort a perception
I wonder if the people who lie so much look in the mirror and lie to their own reflection
Those people need some serious introspection

Speaking the truth comes from the heart
But for some people speaking the truth is the hard part
Some are so good at lying they have transformed it into an art
Lies can tear family and friends apart

I know one thing for sure … I hate being lied to
How about you?
Only speak what is true
Never let your words go askew
