The Trouble Is

I tried so very hard not to fall for you
I knew we were doomed right from the start
My mind believes that I don't love you anymore
The trouble is I can't convince my heart

Your leaving is the proof we're really over
I tell myself we're better off apart
I'm sure I'll be fine once I realize you're gone
The trouble is I can't convince my heart

I keep telling myself I shouldn't cry for you
Whiskey numbs the pain in most of my parts
I'll turn myself around and find someone new
The trouble is I can't convince my heart
