The Tree Sixteen Years After

Sixteen years after our family tree
Has seen plenty of laughter in the ever after
When the wind blows we all know
How strong our tree has grown
Many seasons have come and gone
The new branches of our tree
Have sprouted out for all to see
How beautiful and strong
They have turned out to be

For we planted it sixteen years ago
Now we all know how much our family has grown
How our tree has shown us how important planting our roots
In a new domain could not be the same
Had we not planted it to obtain
All these wonderful memories that remain

For us symbolize the growth of our family
For long ago seeds were planted
After time you had roots of your own
Root by root you nurtured each one
With a mixture of support and a sprinkle of love
After countless hours of understanding
Our family tree keeps on expanding

Like the seasons come and go
The tree branches will continue to grow
For life is ever changing and nothing stays the same
After sixteen years almost to the day
The branches continue to sway
Our roots have taken in such a big way
As our family lives on day after day

For beneath the tree, we plant new memories
Like all my children so far away
When the wind blows the branches will sway
Soon I know they will all find their way back to the tree
Where dreams of tomorrow and memories of today
Live on day after day
