The Treasured Moon
The moon seems to smile
while I admire her glare
But it is a he or she
Shining way up there ?
Well there is a 'Miss Moon'
I'm pretty sure of that
or is the man in the moon
Laughing whilst tipping his hat
Surely she is too delicate
To not be of the fairer sex
Or have I angered the man up there
Leaving him most perplexed
The moon is quite magnificent
And as beautiful as a rose
Quite possibly a gentle lady
Or gentleman I suppose
What matter most is that it's there
Like a beacon in the sky
Showing us there is always hope
When no hope seems nearby
It shows itself
For our delight
And brightens up
The darkest night
So Miss moon or man
I don't mind at all
As long as that orb of beauty
is seen and treasured by all
