The Time Between the Seasons

Like trees in their seasons,
Like our thoughts and reasons,
Life drifts and shifts,
It vanishes like mists.

We wake up to face the day,
Oblivious of what will come our way,
The door opens as we take each step,
In our minds, we cry for help.

We smile and laugh,
Letting our troubles blow off like chaff,
For many, we don’t understand,
We only hope and stand.

Nobody sees us on the inside,
We are measured from the outside,
We are who we are
by the way we chauffeur the car.

Life is a raging tempest,
It drifts us from east to west,
 We push against the tide,
Or just spread our wings and glide.
